what to do with all the canucks??

In Coloardo before I retired from CRH I got a lot of Canada and mexico.

The Canada I would just sell off at the local coin shows as I found a dealer willing to buy at 80% of face to exchange...and for the $100 or so face I had that I got for free out of reject trays...no problem.

The mexican pesos I got after a while added up and I actually was able to pay them out for gold once. Lady sold me some gold, mentioned she was going to mexico. Said no problem as when she went to local markets anytime an American would spend paper they always gave the "I dont have change" bs line and take the money.

So she was happy as heck and said she would just give them exact change from this hord. So I got %100 for my pesos and was able to buy gold at 95% of melt.

You could of made a bunch of money get Canadian boxes lol

I live about 60 miles from the border, get Canadian money all the time. I keep all the pennies, and check the rest for age, I throw all the newer stuff back. I figure after I get a few rolls of pennies they may be worth something one day, and they take up little space.

Didn't they melt all their copper pennies?

Looks like a lot of people are frequenting Canada. Just a show off hands, how many of you are also from upstate NY. I'm always finding Canadian coins.

:hello:I don't know where you are located but I'm from downstate NY & I also find a lot of Canadian change in the coin counting machines down here.

You can still find some in rolls. Even though they are phasing them out, here on the border they still show up. We have a lot of Hutterite colonies and many of them seem to drop old coins at the stores.

Since canada stopped minting Cents, I would ebay em. I sold $25 face in canadian cents for about 50 dollars. Loose - NO COPPER cents. I have about 300 in nickles. and none of these are the 999 fine nickles either. ( I made a foolish face value Craigslist buy a year or so ago, and the guy had rydelled the whole batch ) I need to sell these!

Nice to hear that. That was my thought. I personally am just hanging on to the $25 worth I have.

Haha, upstate NY'er here!

I find 4-5 bucks worth of Canadian dimes every time I do dimes (4 strings boxes per time)

I stick all mine in a box and will probably just dump them at a casino next time I go (which will be a while)

Slip a few of them into your rolls when you go dump, get rid of a few at a time, don't risk sending Cash to someone in a foreign country who you met on Craigslist when you have no recourse... You might as well just put them out with the trash if you're going to do that
