I got a solid quarter signal at 3 inches I was for sure I was going to bring up a silver quarter... but at 3 inches there was no quarter it was deeper... so I kept digging... knowing it was no longer a quarter I had to see what it was... now about this time I hit it and you can see the results... and I then assumed it was a can... but as any good hunter you just have to get it out and see what it is... so I keep digging... and because I think its a can I hit it again and again... I still can't get it out... so i widen the hole which I should of in the first place.... I get it out of the ground and this is what I got... its 4 inches by 4 inches made of lead and covered by copper... before you all make me feel bad about my crummy digging habits I already do... but in my defense I thought it was a can. dang I wish was face down...

It's earlier than the 50's. Absolutely nothing matching this comes from a search. I would bet this goes back to the 20s or 30's. The ad seems to imply that this bathing beauty (with a bathing suit down to the knees) is something "new" and risque. I think it is an ad for a live show.

Don't mess with it, is my advice. Take it into the road show some day to get info on it. It's from the 20's probably. too bad about the gashes, but I wouldn't fret about it. I've developed a little maxim for myself, that I sometimes repeat when I start hunting a new area..."Respect this ground." It reminds me that I don't know what's in there, and I wouldn't be hunting it if there were no chance it held something valuable.

with out the fancy programs the plate can be seen looking in a mirror at the plate
cool find !!!!!!

Weird, I just found a similar plate about two weeks ago.
You can use clay to make a reverse image.
Mine must have been a Dr.'s plate as it shows a woman and her internal organs.
When I found mine, it was lead on one side and copper on the other just like this one.
Does anyone have any idea on when this style of printing was used?
You can clean it by using a dremel with those little round brass brushes they sell at the swap meet for 5 for $3
