Well, you have to pay taxes, that's a no brainer. How are you going to pay for cops, teachers, firefighters, people to pick up after you? How would you pay to maintain parks you detect in? Healthcare if you can't afford it? I don't understand tea bag types who shout taxes are illegal, when they travel over highways paid for by taxes, have their rallies in parks paid for by taxes and judging by the median age a good portion are on Social Security. That being said, if you wanna have a yard sale, I think you should have as many yard sales as you want, tax free. eBay has rapidly gone downhill as the go-to place for online auctions BTW. The 1% DO get away with murder, always have, always will.

Of course we need to pay taxes, how else could we afford to give the muslim brotherhood 1.5 billion a year and pay for Obama family 100 million taxpayer paid African safaris, not to mention supporting 12 million new lawbreakers, and supporting the 47% who don't pay any taxes.

I'm not gonna get into a debate about the IRS, Federal income taxes, and the astronomical amounts of monies wasted by our Gov. that could easily pay for infrastructure and emergency services, but now that i've been labeled a park rallying teabagger (I've been called worse) and possibly on Social Security (in 20 years maybe, lol), tell me... What is the "go to" place for online auctions now? Edumacate me, please.

Thank you for the well thought out label of "TEA BAG TYPES". I think you need to get your info from a few more places than apparently you do. The 1% get away with murder huh? How about the 47% who pay no taxes and get the bulk of the services (spending) Please lets keep the name calling and other childish behaviors at bay....

Prove this, find some sort of proof of this, and I don't mean foxnews.com, find real documented proof 47% of the population don't pay any taxes. Do you mean people in the military? But I have to chime in on the 47%. The "47%" Do not pay any "Federal Income Tax" but certainly do pay other taxes.

In fact , I am one of them! I work very hard to provide for my family of four. My wife stays home to care for our autistic child and to home school the other.
I work two jobs and sell on ebay to make ends meet but I just don't make enough where I end up having to pay federal income tax.

My Grandfather is also a "47%" who is a Korean War Vet who retired after working his whole life. He does not pay Federal Income Tax because he does not have enough retirement income.

Sorry for the rant , I am just tired of this "47%" crap

The roads, was I given a choice? Cops, teachers, firefighters can be run by private institutions, they do not need to be run by the government. As a libertarian I find taxes immoral. You use force to take from me to give to someone else. By definition that is theft. This entire generation of people stuck on the idea that government must take care of us is destroying the country. We pass the responsibility to run our own lives to government, and it always produces dismal results. How did this country ever survive before the 16th amendment?!?

When I hear 47% of the population doesn't pay income tax, I think that is a good start. We just need to get the other 53% on board.

I do not need to run around and get "proof" for you. You can easily find proof on your own with a simple Google search. See....if I thought I was a business...I would have tracked and saved receipts from day one. It took me 2 months to compile everything to prove that I didn't actually earn that much.

This year I will probably be exempt from income tax. I was medically retired last year. My retirement falls under Federal Employees Retirement System. Part of the process was that I was required to file for SSDI. That amount is deducted from my retirement pay. Had I have been disapproved for SSDI I would still make the same amount, just all from civl service retirement. I have paid into SS for 35 years. Anyone who thinks I'm a deadbeat can kiss my butt.
