I have my dredge. Now lets say I go for a weekend and dredge all day sat and half of sunday. Through out the weekend I've done my clean out several times. Now I have (I think) is my concentrate. I watched a vid on the gold cube, So I assume that is whats next. But what is after that and what equipment do I need? Any help or advice is appreciated.
Thanx.

With that 5 inch you shouldnt have to clean out several times. I use a pan and snuffer bottle to recover my gold. The very fine that will be in the black sands is not important to me I get very little black sand where I go. I am sure some of the other guys on here will lead you in the right direction.
Best of luck to you and may your sluice turn yellow :icon_thumright:

I'm by no means a specialist, but if you're looking for a cheap cleanup option, I definitely recommend the bucket sluice concentrator by California sluice box. I buy a lot of pay dirt, (I'm turning into a regular paydirt whore) and most of it is from the Klamath river in CA, From a guy that uses a 3" proline dredge combo - I get a lot of black sand, and the occasional snail!

Basically I hand pan my stuff, or if I'm feeing lazy, just pour it into the bucket sluice and attach a garden hose....it always finds the micro stuff I can't get out from the pan....I have tried to run the cons through a second time after using the bucket sluice concentrator......always clean- 1 time is all it takes.

I think I paid $29 for it online. Without it, or a blue bowl, id be tossing gold out the window.

I do a clean out at the end of each day to see how rich the area is that I'm working. Some guys go longer before a clean out, I like to see what all my hard work that day brought up. I then classify my concentrates and pan out the classified material. I've been meaning to look into faster means of getting the gold out of the concentrates as my claim has a butt load of black sands. One pan usually takes me about 15 minutes and has about 2-3 cups of black sand. It takes so long because my black sands are very heavy and the smallee flower gold takes a while to work its way down. I also can't live with my self if I wash out even the smallest bit of gold ;D.

Theres guys on here that will probably chime in with better info. I havnt really researched into recovery methods too much as all I've ever used has been a pan. But I have heard good things from blue bowls, spiral wheels, and the gold cube.
