Eyeballed this brass barrel sticking out of the mud today. Would love some help in figuring out what it is.

COrrect me if i am wrong, but if the last piece still has the cylinder, shouldn't you be digging all the funny iron tones too? Don't think the cylinder was brass and it could be making the signal real funny.

yes, unfortunately so trashy of a site that I’ll dig myself to death but I’m thinking that due to the plow strike the cylinder will have been knocked out. If you look at the location of the break. The grips were gutta percha so won’t cause a signal. I’m gonna try again and dig more mid range targets...will be a back breaking day but could be worth it. Due to the age of the relics and the amount of gun related items I’m starting to think this is a mixed site with an overseers house underneath of a newer, trashy tenant house from the 40s. In which case I Will be cleaning it all out regardless of the cost in time and effort, because there will be more goodies hiding that are worth it, not just a Rosie and some wheats.
