I found small metal item in city park last night. It has no markings on either side, looks like stainless steel or silver, and no reaction to a magnet?????????

When I found it, I assumed it was stainless steel, looks like the letter C back to back, and has a ring like it was worn on a chain either necklace or key, but when I got to my truck I found it is not affected by a magnet.

What metals have no effect by a magnet?

Ok, dumb question, if nickel is magnetic, how come a nickel won't stick to a magnet?
