I dug this up on an old property in NY State, that belonged to a Rev. War hero at one time.

It looked like the property had really been gone over pretty good through the years. I used an XLT & found this about 4" deep. I also found some old rusty tractor parts etc.

It measures 2 1/2" tall. The hole on the bottom is diamond shaped. There are a few ridges on the top where the thumb pulls it back.
Help...what type of gun is it from?
Thanks,
Anthony

Try and clean out the place where it strikes. See if it is flat or has an indentation. That will help.

Thanks guys,
Here is a pic of the face Daryl. I cleaned it & it looks flat. Wish I could find the rest of the gun!
Ant.

It appears to be cast pot metal antny. I'm goin with part of a toy gun.

I agree. The two circles on the back side seem to indicate modern casting. It looks like the hammer from my 5 y. o. son's toy "Kentucky rifle".
