I recently came into this small car; not sure at all what it is. I took it to the BMW dealership to ask them, they had no idea but offered me 50K for it as is.

It starts and runs, but that is about all I know about it. It has a very narrow wheel base and is pretty short.

Listed it on the net for just over 50K, I figure if people who do not know what it is would offer that and considering the person who owned before had it sitting in his trophy room before he went to prison that it must be worth something, well at least more than the 120 bucks I paid for it at auction.

Last thing on the size if it helps, it clearly take a small driver, my buddy is only about 6`4” and he fits in it just fine, so for small folks if that helps any. Got a neighbor who claims it is a race car from the 40s, but that would be like asking me about a space ship if you know what I mean.

Thanks folks.

I think that car would go for closer to 100k than 50k

So, at a $120.00. Great deal.

I see it ended on EBay with 65 bids at 33,768 US.. reserve not met.

I would find a collectors auction; not EBay.

But I do not have this listed on ebay.

As to what it is worth, no idea, just flipping fast. LEO auctions in Europe are prohibited from profiteering like in the US, and here lately all the auctions I go to have had very few people attending, even the diehards out of the US I have not seen in a while.

I got a couple names to google now from here and will check into those to see if I can figure anything out on this. I seriously doubt the car is an original. It looks like one of those kits you get for a few K. They drive around a great deal when the sun is out, anything from Cobra replicas to Bugatti. Who knows, not a car guy, just know I can get more than 120 Euro.

Hmm.. well, it appears that someone tried to sale it out of Germany February 5th.. I suppose this could have happened before you acquired it.

I may not have seen the original add,the site I read had a fair amount of info including what it supposably is.
So I thought it was your description.

Are you serious man, do you have a link. I only have this on mobil and I assume that is where you got my picture from right. I would love more details, not going to get many bites with an over 50K price tag and I Do Not Know add. LOL

But one thing I do know is that is my picture I took; I took it on a bike path right outside Luxembourg city on a bike path.

Track the engine serial numbers that is what will sell it, and any car guy want's those numbers if the engine don't match car, it's just a kit car probably. If made by a car company there will be records on Vehicle Identification Numbers.Motor# frame#,IMO

If you want a quick flip, why not take the 50K offer from the BMW dealer?

I think it is supposed to be a bmw afm intertype race car - post wwii late 40's.

But based on condition and the wheels, I would say yours is a replica or not built for the track.

An original from that era would have knock-off hubs.

Looks like someone was trying to re-create an Allard.
