Hello Forum,

I found this iron target this morning while detecting in an area of the city where sidewalks are removed, and new concrete is being poured. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Sort of a fancy design...

Shoe heel plate?

Hmmm... Not sure about the shoe plate. It appears to be broken off at a slight angle. A magnet sticks to it too. Weren't Heel plates either aluminum, or brass / bronze? Thanks for looking though.

I don't think it's a heel plate, it is missing the holes that would be required to attach it to the heel.

If its cast iron, it reminds me of an antique trivet or hot plate. Many had a star on them.
