What is this

I thought this winged helmet was a Pontiac logo but I can not find it anywhere. It is 6 & 1/2 inches long and about 3 inches high. Any ideas out their. image.jpg
I did a lousy on photo. Taken with ipad and is now upside down. Any help on what I did wrong.

Looks like a Pontiac symbol to me..

I looked at a few hundred emblems but I didn't see that. I think you may have something that came off a glove box or something in side the car. Definitely looks like Pontiac to me.

Contrary to what everyone thinks this medallion doesn't have to be from a car at all . Because none of the Mercury symbols have the large extended wings like this post and the helmet is not as large as it is on Mercury car logo .
However it might have came off some Indian Saddlebags , because of the rivet holes . Actually it could have no ties to the Mercury car or Indian motorcycle at all and but from a Mercury Boat or Snowmobile ... it's hard to locate any pictures of badges like this . IMHO , Woodstock

Just tidying up some blasts from the past (including some very ancient ones), largely for the benefit of anyone searching the site for information.

That’s the logo used by the Spartan company. Previously known as the Mid-Continent Aircraft Company, they reorganised under the Spartan name in 1928, manufacturing aircraft, aircraft components, and recreational vehicle trailers until 1961. I expect that’s a plate from the rear end or door of a recreational trailer.
