it says B. Blumenthal CO on the back 51248-albums2977-picture741369.webp51248-albums2977-picture741375.webp

I see a patent number or patent date in your bottom picture but can't read it. Can you tell us what it is?

And in looking further they also made belt buckles so a sash buckle isn't out of the question. Is it silver any other markings?

Can you use your cameras Macro setting and get a better pic? Im not getting anything with the patent number 67444. That would be a very early 1849 patent U. S. Patent Dates but its not possible because the patents were dated (month, day and year)at that time. We must be missing something.

I would agree with Bigcypresshunter, it probably a part off of the seed planter.

B. Blumenthal CO might have stamped their name onto the plate, the same as any manufacture might add their name as an asset tag to show ownership of the item.

B. Blumenthal CO may have simply purchased the seed planter to use on the grounds of their manufacturing plant.

Benjamin Blumenthal started his business in 1877 so the dateline fits and the patent was still good 10 years later but it seems odd that Blumenthal would stamp a patent date in this manner on a corn planter but its possible i guess..
