I tried posting this thread to "what is it" subgroup through my iPhone but it ended up here. How can I move it or delete it and start over?

Never seen one like that either. I know that during WW2 Henry Ford insisted that every bolt from his company be clearly marked Ford so he could get paid for them..... so maybe it's another auto or machinery company logo. Other than that no idea.....

If it helps...it looks like a sun in that shield, inside that sun looks to be a design also...maybe a torch??

I've been turning them for longer than that and haven't seen one like before either. You may want to post the thread size, SAE coarse, fine, metric, and the wrench size. I can't tell if this holds a balancer on or an I.D tag. From the lack of corrosion, it doesn't look like it's been in the ground long. Maybe something modern from a swing set or picnic table.

@cudamark: it's a 3/8-16 stainless steel bolt about 1" long. 9/16 wrench fits the head. It's obvious the bolt was sheared off and some threads are smashed.
