I found this in an antique store and bought it because it was only 10 dollars and sterling silver. Then I looked up Reed and Barton, which was on the back, and most of their silverware is very expensive (100-150$ per utensil.) I'm pretty sure this is vintage. Also, It says "DISPLAY SAMPLE P" on the back. Does this make it more valuable?

I know the melt value is about 50 dollars and it weighs about 2.4 ounces. How much is this worth?

I don't think its older then the 1970s as I've had R&B that was made in that time and they have produced many of their patterns for years. You could start on this page of Replacments Ltd. on the Reed & Barton patterns till you find yours and see what they want for a fork like yours. If you see they're out of that folk and they have someone waiting for them to find one they'll buy yours. I once sold an item to them on eBay. They gave me a purchase order number to use before I sent the piece of Waterford they purchased on a -buy it now- listing. The piece I sold was out of stock and on Replacments Ltd. waiting list. I no nothing on a diplay sample pieces. Do you know for sure its sterling even thoughit says "sterling"? I would think it to be solid silver, but maybe the retailers were given them as store diplays and not produced in true solid sterling silver as it wasn't to be sold as a real piece.
