I think the logo represents a specific company or railroad, Ivan. I've been looking on eBay and haven't found anything similar, though, so I'm not sure. Some of the ones on Ebay are selling for big $$. I'll keep looking. Thanks for the help!

Is it pottery or bone china? Hold it up close to a light bulb, if you can see light through it, it is bone china. When I first looked at the MC, it reminded me of McCoy, but their logo is not like that, plus they emboss on the bottom.

There's a glass company Wm. McC & Co. , which is McCully Manufacturing, Pittsburg, PA; you might want to search to see if they made any pottery. Interesting find, Breezie

Thanks Breezie--I just found it in one of my books after searching all day online ::) . The mark is from "McCreery & Co."(Pittsburgh, Penn.) and its not bone china, its the heavy china like the stuff they use in restaurants. I think this mark is from the 1920's. Thanks everyone for trying to help!

I would think that piece was manufactured for use IN that company's dining room because a manufacturer's mark would be on the BOTTOM of the piece, out of sight. That piece has the mark on the SIDE as a monogram.
Just my 2 cents.

I'm finding all kinds of stuff now that I know what the logo represents! Here's a link that shows the McCreery's building and logo. http://www.dshistory.com/stores/mccreerys_pittsburgh/
And another link that tells a little history about the company--It closed in 1938 so I think this creamer predates that. http://www.phlf.org/education-department/burnham-company-in-pittsburgh/

Thanks for the help Shortstack!

Yeah, its kinda fancy--but small! I bet it wouldn't hold even a 1/2 cup of liquid! That wouldn't do us much good, cause we like to drown our biscuits in cream(white) gravy ;D .
:hello:
