What is the best find youve seen posted on the forum?

Re: What is the best find you've seen posted on the forum?

I'd be really happy to find all those clay marbles. I've been hunting artifacts since the flood of '93 and I've never found one of them. To each his own, rings are nice but I love the history of the Native Americans. I could be wrong but I think the marbles are from them.

absolutely too tuff of a question to answer, there are alot of awsome finds. I'll have to agree with free & say first finds :)

Not wanting to offend anyone but personally I think that the United Flight of Jeff's gotta rank up there real close especially with the history attached.

There have been so many awsome finds it's hard to say. For me it would have to be any one of those old silver coins that are dug up by everyone but me! :'( Damn that elusive silver!

Re: What is the best find you've seen posted on the forum?

Well, just my opinion, but here it goes. Coins are awesome, old, new, silver, gold, copper, or clad. I am personally hoping to amass quite a collection of old coins myself through MDing over the next many years. Other stuff, such as toys, guns, marbles, tokens, bullets, buttons and other relics are great as well. But I think the single best find I've ever seen posted was the guy (can't remember his name) who found the silver shoe buckles that were probably owned by a signer of the Declaration Of Independence. Again, coins, rings and jewelry and other relics are all awesome finds, but to find a historic item like those silver buckles is just incredible! A truly historic item like that is what I lust for, and will keep looking for! And I will be plenty happy to add the interesting relics and coins or jewelry to my collection in the meantime!

that was j.d., Treasurekidd. and I have to agree that was a great one :)

I love all the coins and rings. Jeff's plane wreck was a good story. For some reason, I remember the lead tooth someone found. I think that was probably the most fascinating find I've seen on here.

Free, I agree with you and the others. The first finds are the best. I'm still new to detecting so I can remember well. The first day you get home and dump out the "good stuff" there's nothing better. Your all excited that you found 98 cents in clad and a matchbox car after four hours of digging in the hard dirt. You've split and pulled back every finger nail on your right hand to the point of bleeding from scratching around and the stickers in your knees are starting to swell up. ?Everyone looks at you like you've been over to uncle ben's house for the afternoon drinking whiskey. That's OK, they'll never know the feeling if they don't pick up a detector and try it their self's. I'm hooked and love it.

FTD's Gold piece was in the top % of the best I'd say!

I also like J.D.'s Silver Buckle, that's up there too!

Wow, there are so many good ones, but the one that comes to mind is the ring found by Onionrings. The one, someone described, as being the one he stole off the Queens finger. I think it had something like 25 diamonds and 35 Sapphires. And of course those amazing finds, by, jeff of pa ,at the plane crash site were unforgettable.

Re: What is the best find you've seen posted on the forum?

The Best Find that I have found on this forum are the people like you who like to help out other people out who are starting to metal detect and just people who need advise. I believe all the coins, relics and other good finds don't mean as much unless you have some good friends/family to share them with. Whether it be a Forum, Chat site or out in the field it is the people who make the difference! Looks like you are a nice lady. Makes this site nice to visit! Bobcat
