if you are going to purchase glassware for this operation, may I recommend buying a pychnometer, it is specifically used for the purpose you are proposing. I do not seem to be spelling it correctly, I will add a photo

if you are going to purchase glassware for this operation, may I recommend buying a pychnometer, it is specifically used for the purpose you are proposing. I do not seem to be spelling it correctly, I will add a photo

Thanks again.I'm new to the "specific gravity" stuff...Anyhow I contacted a jewelry store who will look at these things and see what they can find out tomorrow :)

I was gonna ask RTR... what metals are "known" to surface in the area historically other than gold ? ? ?

Well, in that area, there are Many gold & silver mines going back to before the civil war.But I've never see silver that is white.And I DO know what gold from that area looks like :)

Here ya go...It took quite a bit of force to eventually bend this little piece.And a lot more force to break it into 2 pieces . And Inside looks the same as the outside,white.
