Looks like mercury covered gold?

That was my 1st thought but all pix I can find show mercury covered gold to be more silver/grayish in color. These pieces are pure white.

I also have removed mercury gold that was very, very bright shiny.

I also have removed mercury gold that was very, very bright shiny. Also lead shot can be bright white.

Dunno, but those jagged edges lead me to think its harder than lead shot

I honestly have no idea, maybe try the minerals and rocks forum and see if it rings any bells?

The whiteness you refer to keeps making me think a metal from the platinum group

Run a file on one or bend one till it breaks if it’s gold that will tell you?
then post a pic.

Weigh the pieces dry and then drop them into a small graduated cylinder to figure out their density.

Pure silver has a density 10.5 g/cc and platinum is twice that. It's an easy test to do without any acids.
