I think cars have been scrapped and abandoned from one corner of this country to the other. They have trees growing through them, they are in the middle of the most inhospitible regions, they were used by the millions to hold riverbanks together in every city in America... I've seen schoolbuses on the tops of mountain trails where they should never be - and wondered how in the heck they got there!

Abandoned? Stolen? Either way it's probebly uniquly American... and it's amazing...

I remember seeing lots of old cars on the river banks when I was a kid, when the water level was low . I also use to see old sunken river boats, steam boats.

In the first photo if you look close the metal piece in the middle of the split windshield looks wrong. Too shiny and wide. Almost looks like somebody jammed a piece of that chrome front grill in there to me. I don't think it was a splitty. Maybe that fresh air cowl might give up a hint also.

Those pics ARE several years old.

There is the Possability it isn't a split window.

I have to admit, I don't honestly remember.

The fact it is Exactlty Centered Makes me think it is though

It is a 1946 ford 2 dr sedan. The square parking lights are a key to the age,the 47 and 48 models were round and under the headlites. Neat old car you can get $500 to $1000 for this model, look on ebay 1946 ford. Would make a great street rod (pre 1950). If you can see the frame rail under the hood, there is a vin number on the rail just in front of the cowl on the drivers side. A lot of states did not title cars back then, so you may not be able to get any info with vin number. The trin is stainless.

do you think it may have been a stolen car somebody drove there? or since it's stripped maybe somebody just dumped it as scrap?

Although it is Possible, I think it was sitting at a farm stead
of the past. several towns were removed to build this state park.
there are signs of roads of the past in there.
I couldn't find any signs of stone walls or other evidence there was a home there. other then it looks like the perfect area for one.

but am still convinced this is the reason.

Jeff. If you have the energy you could claim it and sell the fenders, trunk lid and anything else.

Theres at least couple of thousand dollars worth of parts to a restorer.

I never Thought about that Angelo.

Hopefully it's there yet.
What I mean by that is, hopefully nobody else got that Idea already.

It's about a 10 Minute walk into the woods.
although I should be able to see it from the Highway
this time of year, as it hangs at the top of a ravine.
Maby I'll take a ride tomorrow when the sun comes up.
