Sure.

Some kind of reference for size might help. Whatever it is they wanted something well fastened to it!

what you can see its about 4ft by 8 to 10 inches wide but I believe there are another few feets under the dune because I was not able to pick it up.... the part of the spikes sticking out are about 4 to 6 inches

Hi Chagy. Would pulling out one of the nails/spikes and studying the construction of that tell us something?

OK, that helps. I'm not an expert on anything, OK, so take this as just a guess and not as fact. The bolts in the piece of timber don't look old enough or corroded enough to be from the 1660s. So the piece may be from a shipwreck, but not that one.

And some bronze Ship spikes from the 1600's on the green board,
