There has been a lot of debate for what you have there. I found one like it also. Mine was found in a colonial site. Some say some kind of belt plate others say part of a trunk.









Maybe someone will come up with a id. Mine had some black leather still attached to the prongs. It was very brittle and just flacked off when I cleaned it off with water
