The round metal thing looks like a "One Hitter" pot pipe, probably made of brass. Is that a piece of wood it's stuck in?

This might sound crazy but it looks a little like an old window pane latch. They used them years ago with weighted windows! It's been awhile! Just a guess!!

I think the wood is part of a box were the pipe an dope are kept. I see a lot of this stuff every time I walk into my local gas station.

Called a "dugout" one hit marijuana pipe. The wood was a case that held the pipe and your weed of choice.

Definitely a one hit hitter and the wood is probably the remains of the stash box.

I found this a couple of weeks ago while detecting on our hunting property. It was actually above ground, but covered under the leaves.

That is a one-hitter or commonly referred to as a "bat" because of the resemblance to a baseball bat.....don't ask how I know this ; )

Thanks everyone. That's exactly what a buddy of mine said he thought it was....and knowing him, I never should have doubted him.;)

Just to show how naive I am, I didn't know such a thing existed. Guess I've lived a rather dull life.

At the head shops, that was nicknamed "the dugout" Had a chamber for "tobacco", and a slot to hide the "baseball bat" style one hitter. Found one of the baseball bats in a park myself last year. You would shove the baseball bat down into the "tobacco" and pack it in the end real good, then smoke it like a cigarette.
