What I experienced this past Monday

I'm not familiar with what towns are where in Tennessee but I found an article on Flintville.
One man said it leaves behind large footprints & a foul skunk odor. A Mrs. Robertson who
saw a bigfoot behind her home described an odor that reminded her of a skunk or dead rats.
Also found this site , the second video is longer. I'm not saying there is proof , I just can't be
so sure that they don't exist. I like the stories that make you say, 'hmm, maybe it's possible.'

Sounds like its time for a few motion-activated IR illuminated cameras............

If you have a PC with either a few USB ports, or a desktop pc with available expansion slots, you can put together a pretty decent multi-camera setup for a few hundred bucks.................

I am not sure where Flintville is but, I live in Dickson County Tennessee..........I have run across a site that said Dickson county has had 2 sightings in the past. One off of Gum Branch road and the other in Burns. If you google that you guys can read about it. I used to work for a company that was on Gum branch road. I must say there are some very dense woods out there. I went to wal mart to check on the game cameras and the least expensive one is 80.00 and the other one is 150.00. I have an ebay account and I am watching a few at the moment. I am tight on cash right now and am going to try the cheap route on ebay. Today I started clearing out the area where the first incident happened. I am not easy around the woods at night here at home so this has made me do some clearing of small trees and such to open the area up. I did notice where some site said they have seen a bigfoot near their home eating mayapples. Well we have those things all over the woods out there. I have noticed all of them do not have fruit on the plants anymore but today when I started clearing out the small trees and brush I came upon a little patch with fruit still on the plant, so I am guessing whatever it was may have been trying to get to the fruit and eat it. I also spooked an adult deer out when I took a break walking out towards our little creek. It was about 25 yards from me and I took notice of how quite and graceful it was running away and dodging small trees and other obstacles hardly making any sound at all. I kind of have mixed feelings about clearing out the area. I by any means do not like to do that kind of stuff this time of year because of snakes, ticks and chiggers. But if something again does happen I would like to at least have a chance to see it. Heck for all I know this thing may have been here all along and I may have been at the right place at the right time for a change. Who really knows? Do these things live in certain areas or are they always on the move? I have tried to search that information out but nothing so far on the subject of if they live or migrate around the country. I have been asking around to everyone I know, who grew up here, about what happend to me and so far the only accounts I have heard from the people I have talked to happened in East Tennessee. I have been going out at night just to listen now and see if I notice anything and so far since last friday when I encountered the foul smell, nothing else has happened. I have also read that only about 12% or something like that, has an odor with an encounter. If I did not smell what I smelled I would not be so excited about it. My older brother back in the early eighties lived in east Texas. He was visiting a friend and his friends sister came home claiming she had just saw a bigfoot. She said he was about 7 foot tall and had brown hair that hung about 8 inches all over except on the hand where she said it seemed as though there was no hair and the hands were a very light color. She obsereved, that it walked upright and its back was hunched over slightly in the middle of the back. She also said it seemed as though the thing hardly had a neck at all. She saw it as soon as it entered a clearing and she stopped the car to watch it. She said she was about 100 yards from it and watched it for about 7 minutes as it was walking though a large field until she could not see it anymore. Well my brother and his friend went out to the area and searched around for about 45 minutes. He told me the field lead to a swamp on the far side of it and that is where they came across the tracks. He describe the odor and his description was similar to my encounter with the odor. He wears a size 11 boot and at the time he weighed about 220 lbs. He said with all of his weight, standing on one foot, his boot print only left about a 1 inch deep print. These other prints were almost 4 inches deep he said. He also put his boot inside the bigfoot prints and the print itself was about 4 inches longer than the boots he was wearing, and about 3 inches wider than his boots also. He said as soon as they encountered the odor, my brother and his friend got the heck out of there. He told me this story about 15 years ago but re told it to me last saturday. I have also read these things have been observed in trees but they are the adolesent ones and not adults. I am still dumbfounded so far but time will tell and I will keep you guys posted, Tim

maybe someone on Craigslist has for one cheap, at least till you can get a good one, heck, maybe someone local will lend you a couple or even help set them up cause they're curious too.

I looked on there and there are some but they are expensive..........apparently very good ones. I am going to post asking for a decent deal on a used one. i will just have to be patient, Tim

Well, I gave it a shot anyway, was hoping you could find some fairly cheap. I'lb lying if I said I wasn't eager to see what you catch in a photo. I don't know if it's a BF stomping your place but that would be pretty wild if it was, I don't know if I'd feel the same if it was my house so please don't take that the wrong way.

bigtim 1973 - - How you makin out down there ? Anything else going on or did it quiet down ?
If it turned out to be my ex mother in law, don't you believe nothing she says. I ain't a bad guy. ;D
Seriously though, I do believe something is going & I hope all is OK. Let us know.

LOL about the ex-mother in law!!!! Well I have to say that I do hear stuff going on down near the creek and it usually starts up about 11 pm or so at night. About 3 nights ago I heard a very loud limb break and then I heard 3 distinct steps. After about 20 minutes it had made its move around to the back part of the property. I am still kind of skiddish about it. It always seems to start in the same area. I think it is making it's way down the creek bottom then comming out of it on to our place. Now I am not saying that it happens every night but it has happened about 3 times in the last week. I lucked out and bought one of those stealth cams after I put an add in the wanted section on craigslist. Cost me 15.00 bucks and I have to go set it up. It is an older one that takes 35mm film but it should still be ok for me. I was tromping around down there the day I got it in the mail so I figured I would wait a day or so until my scent cleared out before I go back and hang it up in a tree. I have been asking around to different people if they have experienced anything strange like I have and a very close friend of mine has a son that had a bought with one of these things last year near his home. It was throwing rocks at his house for about 3 or 4 nights in a row. He also lives in the same county as I do. I go to the local book store and the little girl ask me if I needed help and I said yes, where are the books on bigfoot? She said right over here then she says, I have one behind my house. I asked her where she lives and she said Tennessee City, and that is the same county as I live in. Well they say these things breaks trees up to 4 inches in diameter about 7 feet or so off of the ground supposedly marking territory. Well I have found a couple of those near the stream that goes along the property line which is the direction this thing ran off the day it happened the first time. My sweety heard something early one morning roaming around out there and said it made too much noise to be a deer. I guess I will have to wait and see but I will keep you guys posted, Tim

Oh no I am no way taking this wrong. Believe me if it was your thread you started I would feel exactly the same as you do. I do have a trail camera now and I will put it up probably on saturday. I hope I get something on film..........Well I know I will get coons and deer maybe even some armadillo...............But I am hoping to get something out of the ordinary too!!!!

Well guys tonight I have set the camera up out in the woods. I put an apple up in a smaller tree abobut 12 foot from the camera. The apple is wedged in the fork of the small tree and is off of the ground about
7-1/2 feet. I will keep a check on the apple to see if it goes missing from the tree. We will see what happens. Heck for all I know this thing could have skipped town already and it may never come around again but I hope it is still around, Tim

gotta admit, part of me hopes you dont catch anything for safety sake and part of me can't wait to see an awesome pic from the camera.

It's a skunk ape.

Well I hope I get something with the camera!!!! For my sanity I do hope there is something out there that would be a skunk ape or something. I grew up and used to hunt and have been outdoors all of my life and this thing is really messing with me. My luck it will not come near the camera for a long time but I am not going to give up. Night before last I heard strange grunting sounds comming from back there. I know what a pig sounds like and this was very different. I have heard deer kind of grunt before but it was different from that also. I do not know what it was but I will say it was different from anything I have ever heard, Tim

Well bud what kinda critter is it?

Not talked to ya in a week or so and I'm curious to know what you caught.

Did you ever listen to those evps?

I hope your silence doesn't mean it got ya...lol

I am still here just been real busy!!

Good luck with that camera & hopefully it stays off at a distance. Do you hear any other 'weird' sounds
besides that grunting ? What's odd to me is finding the stripped trees & 'something dark' jumping out
of the tree. Porcupines will strip bark off trees but usually only during winter & usually bears won't jump
from higher up , but just stayed 'treed'. Plus bears & deer don't have that 'strange smell.'
Anyway, is there a creek, lake or some food source that might keep a critter in that area for so long ?

Wow! Awesome story! I have to say, where I live in Mich there have been two past reports of the same thing. Some thought it was a bigfoot type creature. Black creature, worst smell you can imagine, biped, fell from a tree and ran off. I think it's great to hear the same story from a different area. And while black bear is a good guess, I have ran into many black bear where I live and it doesn't sound like a bear to me personally. The stories mentioned here were it landed on all fours, stood up and ran off, one crossed a highway and was seen by numerous drivers. We have a lot of wild animals here but never saw or heard anything like that. I laughed because I was going to say, it may be my mother-in-law but it was already taken, besides, she would smell worse and is likely hairier.
I do know from experience that when you WANT to catch something on cam or film, it's suddenly impossible it seems but I will definitely be keeping up on this story!

Great read,

Paul

Yea there is water in a pond about 100 yards to the east and also there is a very small creek that runs along the edge of the property that goes into a small river about 5 miles away here at home which is only about 50 yards away from where the first incident initially happened. I hear you on the stripped tree bark too. I have never seen lengths so long before. I guess I should have taken some pics of it but I just did not think about it. I have been very busy this weekend to go look for other out of the ordinary stuff and it will be tomorrow before I can go look but, I did find a small trees that has been broken in 2 different places and bent around to the side. I thought that was very strange. I have never seen anything like that before in my life. I will try to take some pics of that too. I will definately keep everyone informed, Tim

Yea I have read a few accounts of this kind of stuff happening in your part of the woods also. My luck this thing will stay away from the camera too but, I hope not. Like I said it is really messing with me. Tim
