Here's another way to differentiate the 1982 copper from the 1982 zinc. Tape a 1990's zinc to one end of a popsicle stick and make a little see-saw rig. Place a penny on the other end. If it sinks, its copper. We're talking 3.11 grams vs. 2.5 grams. Dropping a coin on the floor (for the ring) is a pain in the neck, not only for you but for old Abe as well.
