While I believe the term 'transitional piece' is generally over-used, this looks to me to be a transitional paleo/archaic point. I'd definately spend some time in that field and see what else there is to be found.

I agree with Twitch on this and imo that point has Hi-Lo characteristics.
 

Thanks for the comments fellas. I agree that people are sometimes too eager to dub something "transitional paleo" but, this point does look early to me.

I think the point type is called a "Transitional Point", not just a reference to the time period. Kind of a confusing name for a point. Nice looking rock. Jon.
