Proportionally, the "handle" is too short to be a handle, and its design suggests it was slipped into something rather than hand held. My thought is that it is a tooth of some sort used in some kind of power equipment like an old steam shovel, etc. Interesting piece.

Good thought. The area near where it was found is a farming community so maybe it was attached to a plow type device, digger or row machine.
