What are they??

Have found these same articles at 3 different sites, brass, 5/8" dia. 3/16 thick.
center perforated.
Anyone got an idea?

Maybe something like the reel gear in this picture, but finding 3 of them would be highly unlikely wouldn't it?

I've found many shell casings, some where only the primer end remains, none as thick as these, the 'gear' is only embossed on one side.
I am thinking some bit of clockwork, but exactly the same part in 3 different areas?
They must have been part of some common item.
all were found in old boatyards.

If all found in boatyards, maybe the fishing reel part is more of a possibility.

Looks like and sounds like the gears to part of a Cronometer. The instruments used to plot the location of the ships.

I found one of those !! Mine was a model T tire repair plug. Look it up.
