Went back to the 1836 homesite of JA McDonald that I pounded last summer. This site has produced 12 1800's IH, 2 LC, a little silver and tons of cool relics. It rained most of the night here in Ohio and showers all day. I was able to get an hour in before I got washed out. I was able to squeeze out another IH and a shotgun shell end. Been finding lots of these lately. I also tried hunting in the jewelery mode instead of the coin mode which I have used most of the time. This place is still wide open for me as it is still for sale. No place is ever completely hunted out. The pics of the house were taken last summer as I didn't take my camera today because of the rain. That sketch I found at the local library is the actual house you see today, minus the front porch and the side room. There was also some kind of railing on top of the house which is also gone. I found Mr McDonald's marker at the local cemetery a few months ago. He was active on the city council in the forming of the town of Woodstock Ohio. He was also wealthy as you can see by the size of his house and 54 acres of land and more down the road where he had more land. Thanks for looking, Ron

Hey Ron. Hit that site again sometime.

It looks like such a large detecting area. Very easy to miss an 8-9" relic/coin.

Keep plugging away, buddy!

Congrats on a great find. An IH is always cool, and yours looks like it is in great shape! That Ace is doing great for you. WTG

Right you are Sir...No place is completely hunted out. Congrats on adding another Injun to your ever-growing collection. HH

Thanks for all of the comments. I'm going to pound it some more Sunday with Daytondigger. POUND, POUND, POUND..... until there's nothing left ;D

Most people have never found an IH. Great find.

I guess we get spoiled when we don't find anything better than that. That's for keeping me in check ::)

Those are really good finds and it would be nice to find a LC!

Just nice finds Ron, keep searching there you never know. Seeing you have searched there before, Slow down now, and use much less discrimination.
You will dig iron and junk, but get a little more depth I think and could still find nice stuff....

Awesome injun! BTW CJH, in case you didn't know, the railing at the tops of many old homes is called a "widow's walk" they were used by women to keep an eye out while waiting for their men or man to return home from war or a long absence, since there were no phones to call ahead.........NGE

Oops, forgot to ask. Has a Minelab ever been used on that property?.......NGE
