Well now, that didn't take long!

I went back to the 1850's place I was at yesterday but did a side hunt. I had forgotten that this park once had a beach so I spent some time testing my AT-PRO on the dry sand there. Wanted to see how it handled sand. My goodness! Was it deep! I got a few clad coins that had been missed by the many, many other detectorists that I KNOW has hit this place. :)

They were very deep in the sand. 6 to 9 inches! This machine still picked up on them. I even got 2 wheat cents that were BELOW the sand in the base clay they built this beach on! Maybe 10 inches? So I am very pleased.

But, that's not the star of the show. I don't know how old a drop this was but my brand new AT-PRO has already been baptized. AND, it found gold BEFORE it has found silver! How cool is that? LOL

Enjoy the pics of my very first gold ring with my new toy.

14k - weighs in at about 5.8 grams. (VERY happy!)

Thanks for peeking!

HH!

Gold crop has failed for me, too. :sadsmiley: Only gold found was returned to owner.

Awesome ring! Congrats on finding it. Wouldn't mind finding a 3 cent piece, either.

Anita
