Welcome to the site! Please post an introduction thread.

Hello everyone, im new to Tnet, looks like a really great site to share information with. I'm into all types of treasure hunting from pottery to milk glass and old furniture. I also enjoy metal detecting and finding the great treasures that are buried. Thanks for having me on this site. Johnb

This is my introduction post. I won a metal detector in a drawing and came upon this site while trying to educate myself. You all have done a good job of that! I got interested in CRH and started buying mass quantities of cents, not pennies. (see, told ya you were educating me). I'm looking forward to learning a lot more.

Hello. I'm new to the site. Originally a rock hound but I got the treasure bug sometime this winter. So once everything thaws out, my new quests will begin. Thanks.

Hi,
I live in Texas, I first started detecting in 1965 with a White's non-discriminator. I found a few interesting items and a few coins with it, but mostly dug up tons of junk and trash. About 1972, I bought an A.H. Pro detector, a great old detector with good discrimination. It arrived at the Post Office about four in the afternoon. After setting it up and learning a bit about it, I went to the high school that I had attended. There was a line that formed on the sidewalk outside the cafeteria at lunch. That was the first place that I looked. I got to search about two hours before dark. I think I was the first one to ever detect there. When I got home that night I had already found enough in silver coins and class rings to more than pay for my detector. In 1977, I bought an A.H. Super Pro 2 body mount, been using it ever since and I still can go right in behind newer detectors and make good finds. I am retired now and have combined my hobbies of riding motorcycles and detecting, they go well together. I found this site through a Google search and it is an interesting extra for after the hunt.

Hi everyone, my name is Chris. My son and I live in a place called Panama City, FL. He and I both have the bug now for wanting to pan for gold. Neither of us have ever tried it but are eager and willing to learn. It's all my moms fault. She went on a vacation to North Carolina last year and stopped of at one of the gold panning tourist attractions. When she got home she was so proud to show off her gold to us and it has sparked our interest ever since. At first my son wanted to go on vacation this year (March 31-April 3) to a place in Orlando, FL called Nick Hotel that is a theme hotel based around the cartoon characters. I'm sure this would have been great fun, but I am more about the nature side of things. So when I suggested we go on vacation somewhere to pan for gold, that's all it took and he's been very excited to give it a go. We are planning on a trip to North Georgia to start our adventure. I have a bunch of ideas on were to go but nothing definitive. I understand that there are clubs to join that cost a hefty fee in order gain access to leased lands, but I live in Florida and will not be able go often enough to balance that cost. If anyone reads my post and thinks they may be able to point us in the right direction or put us in contact with someone out of the Cherokee, GA area we would greatly appreciate it.
