Newbie from Charleston, SC area. I want to learn more about so of the area which contain relics from the Civil War, Revolutionary war here in the Low Country. In addition, looking to understand about what gear folks are using and what may work best in our sandy/loamy soils. Thanks for allowing me join this group!

Checkin' in from Pensacola Beach, Fl. Just moved back here after 18 years, and I've been hunting the beach every chance I get. Found a LOT of the standard stuff - crusted pennies, dimes, a few quarters. Also picked up a newish Andrew Jackson dollar (2008), couple of pieces of .925, and the front shaft of a skeleton key. Best thing so far: a loose diamond I happened to spot on the ground in a parking lot... while I was walking TO the spot I was hunting that day (my detector was still on my shoulder, turned off)!
Looking to upgrade my machine soon, and hook up with some good people to hunt with.

Hi Newbie here and to coin roll hunting.
I'm just starting out small with nickels and got one book (1996 - Current year) almost filled but I'm missing the 2009 P.
I didn't know it was going to be so hard to find, but it's been fun trying.

Thanks for letting me join.

Welcome Aboard Precious! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE).

Greetings to all. Indiana native here, but I have a brother in SoCal-Corona visiting. All he wants to do is find some gold. Nothing on the scale of tv shows; just some. Any honey hole area or places I could send him? Any assistance would be fantastic. As my screen name shows I am safety conscious and worry about him away from home. Older brother is there and has lived there 30 years but is not an adventurous person at all. Thanks in advance for any ideas where to send him to reduce his gold fever.

49, soon to be 50 year old, separated, stay at home mother of 4! Any more info would be a daring site bio. Lol.

Hi everybody! Love antiques, vintage items, rock hunting, criminal justice and the metaphysical and paranormal worlds. Rock hunting and collecting has been in my genes since childhood and I'm glad I picked it back up. I am glad to come across y'all. This "rock" stumped me and for some reason the internet didn't have much to go on. This happens quite often. I'm even more thrilled to find y'all because of the generality of "treasure hunting". As we all know, what's a treasure to me, might not be to you. It's great to potentially have access to information on a variety of topics/items.

Thanks!! - Salem

Another newbie from Indiana. Have had cheap metal detectors for 30 years but never really got into it. Just got myself an Equinox 800 for Christmas. Now I'm ready...
