This are two of several rocks or crystals (not sure what they are), that I found in a rusty can in a old garage. At first I thought they might be some kind of coral now I'm just now sure. One is white, and the other a brown. It's not dirty I thought it was but once I got them home I ran them under water and that seems to be it's natural color. They peeked my interest, and I can't seem to identify them. Anyone have an idea to what they could be?

They look like portions of quartz geodes, or maybe just the sides of a gap in the country rock. if they are, the brown is probably iron oxide staining of the quartz.
