Metal Detecting
Today I went down to some torn up sidewalk and metal detected. On one of my first signals I pulled a Indian head penny out of the ground, and I got really exited! After a while I switched spots and found a barber dime. This was turning out to be a great hunt! Just before I left, I Got one last decent signal. When I saw the edge of a huge copper coin I got exited. When I pulled it out I realized it was a token. Any ideas on what it could be? 861BDF89-0E89-4928-BFAD-4B88A2FB07BB.jpeg

Good luck token! Intended to be carried in your pocket as a constant reminder from the issuing merchant.

What is one the other side?

PRETTY COOL! The fact that it says North Topeka should help to narrow down the date of when it was in use.

Nice token.

Several companies issued them with that same reverse and their own custom obverse. Presumably all made by the same token manufacturer. None of them seem to have been reliably dated but the consensus is that the swastika, as a good luck emblem in America, progressively fell out of favour after its adopted use by the Nazi party in the 1930s and the tokens are unlikely to be later than the very early 1940s.
