When my Simplex charges from the appropriate wall adapter, I see the power remaining,.... 2-3 bars etc, as it cycles up to full charge. I do not see this on the Legend. The power bars do not stay on, but cycle from blank to full, then constantly recycles every second or two, Nothing, then blip, blip, blip to the end. Then it starts again. It gives no indication of how much charge it has or is gaining, while charging. But when turned on I can see that state of charge. It has been charged twice. Forst when it arrived with version 1.04. Then I updated the software to v1.11 The first charge was 4 hours. The charge after v1.11 was 3 hours. in both charges I never recieved more than 4 out of five charged bars. I suppose there is the possibility that it didn't receive long enough charge time. But 7 hours between both charges ? And it not showing any present state of charge in the tiny charge indicator on the display while pluged in ? Is this normal ? A bad machine ? I'll take it out and work it a bit, then do another long recharge, and see what happens. I do not want to start the season off with 4/5 battery charge potential on a new machine.

My Simplex does the same thing. I have no idea how much charge has been done. May be the software version. ?

You should probably update it to v1.11. The charging indicator and some other things in the charging circuit were some of the updates over the last year. From 1.04 to 1.11 the Legend became a totally different machine.

One of the first things that I did was update to 1.11, as I said above. That is why I find this situation weird. When I turn the machine on it identifies as ver. 1.11 BTW, I found two silver dimes (both over a hundred years old) and a silver quarter in 1-1.5 hours at an old site that I hit now and then, in badly mineralized ground. I already love the machine. But I'll be getting and a replacement if the battery thing doesn't stabilize. Thank you for the reply.

Mine will usually do what you are describing, but the bar doesnt always go from empty to full. It will go from the amount of last charge to full. So if I have 2 bars of charge, the display will show 2 bars---->full. I would be curious if you unplug it halfway through and pug it back in, if it will then show the same as mine.

Using appropriate charge cord and adapter. Turns out that It was a malfunctioning unit, that was replaced fairly quickly. Thank you for reply
