✅ SOLVED Weird antique hammer

This hammer was found in an old field. We cleaned it but it seems like there is another metal underneath. Any help. ID or ideas. Thanks

I've seen a blacksmiths tool similar to this that was used to chip slag and excess weld off of metel being worked on.

Looks like a crude welding tool to me also but I could be way off. Looks pretty cool though. HH

Looks like an very old steel workers hammer the long point is to line up the steel beams to rivet...the head to pivot the beams ...i think

Yeah looks that way. It was in an old cornfield under a big tree. I walked it with a descendant. He repaired his own tractors and stuff so it would fit with the property.

If it were mine i`d clear spray it and mount it on a nice piece of wood with a brass staple and hang that on my wall...i like that hammer very much.
