As I mentioned in a “ today’s finds “ post, we secured a new permission, we were walking through an over grown home site that was unswingable for the most part and very junky. Anyway, I did dig a few high tones and pulled up a bangin 86 signal, it turned out to be a stainless steel ball, very heavy, perfectly round and blemish free. I don’t know if it’s a baring or what, really a head scratcher.
Any thoughts??

Not necessarily. My neighbor had one about 10" across in his garage. Thought it was a bomb from Ft. McHenry in Baltimore. Stainless steel bearing from the huge Sparrows Point refinery. That was odd.
