Picked up a box of nickels on Friday, a couple interesting finds.
A buffalo nickel no date. Still a buffalo nickel is a buffalo nickel. ;D Then a 1973 panama nickel, non silver and a 1977 S proof. My first nickel proof, in AU or better condition. Looks like just a couple bag nics, reverse nearly flawless. Very good strike, all steps intact. 2 1939, 2 1940, no mint marks, darn it! Hand full of others pre 1960.

Then I was out in the pan handle of Maryland. Way out in the boonies. First bank I went to she said " Ive been here 6 months and never seen one. Halves are very very rare". Went to the bank a few miles down the road. They had a bag of $230 halves.
1 64 and 4 40%. Ill take it. :D Ill post a couple pics later.

Heres the reverse of the proof, its in a 2x2 the squigglies and what looks like a scratch is on the outside.

Finally got the chance to return the rejects. the coin counter kept shooting one of the nickels out. Turns out I had missed a 44P. Not bad for a nickel box. Silver is always a plus. ;D

Hey. Was it a Coin Star machine? I always wondered if missed War nickels would be spit out of the machine I use to do my coin dumps.
