The weather was sunny and warm this weekend. I hunted the new spot with Smittyman on Saturday, then took P@tch there on Sunday. The hunts were about (5) hours each.
Here is the (188) coins and other "smalls" that I dug.
Here are the cleaned item, less all of the clad.
- 16 Wheaties.
- Kennedy half.
- VFW medal.
- Marble.
- '43 & '48 quarters.
- '64 & '41 dimes.
- Toy gun hammer.
- Spam can key.
- Toy Wheel
- Small metal TV.
This is a VFW war medal. I believe it once hung from a ribbon on a veteran's chest.
I am coin shooter at heart, and something about silver coins just gets me going. Early on Saturday morning, this shiny disc appeared in some dirt that I had thrown out of a hole. 1964 dime!
The edge of this coin appeared out of a dirt clod. I could tell it was a quarter by the thickness! Can you ID any objects by their thickness?
I pulled the plug out of this hole, and there was a Mercury dime looking up at me!
I ended the weekend with these (4) silver coins... and a smile on my face!
Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!
