Excellent digs!! Although I have dug hundreds of bullets, I've never found a star base. I do have one that was given to me. Those are some great finds. Congrats on the Flying Eagle. That one eludes me also.

Thanks, Gettysburg campaign friend. We find them quite often. I've found 5 or 6 FE cents. All in camps. It makes sense finding them there. Small cents were in circulation then. We find large cents also. I guess they used what ever they could get a hold of. Thanks for checking my digs out. HH

Great finds. Keep the photos coming.

man you killed it!! Awesome hunt!! Congrats!!!

I got back out this weekend & did some relic hunting. I dug a 1857 flying eagle cent as a bonus. The spot today has produced many Williams regulations & star base minie balls. Thanks for checking out my scroungings. HH Tim

Dang it Man Ur Killing It , November seem's To be your month to Shine I hope Dec, brings you more.
Also see yr back down to .58 & Carbine finds, The tip's of the Burnsides in the last pic , look very worn or it the Brass that high up on the bullets? It could be just me ..& It looks like Fresh black Powder on a couple Burnside rds, I guess any brass that was there just fell to pieces.?

The FE Is something I have never dug either being made of CN they don't hold up as well as the Bronze & Later Copper IH's.
It still has nice Detail , I'd likely leave it that way but If I dug another one I'd 'Maybe" try some Electrolysis or other cleaning technique

I'm just up late catching up on some old posts & U done real good lately.
I'm up & ready to go hunt Tomorrow & what do you Know "Rain all Day" but after 0 in almost 2 months ill, take it.
I got my Baggies Ready & may stop for a Cheap Poncho at China Mart. IDK
Peace
