ErikInNJ and I met up with NJLARGECENT for NJ's birthday. We hit some amazing properties (on paper at least) and found some cool stuff. Here are my finds from the 3-day outing:
Day one:
NJ and I hit a new-ish house in a very old town. No expectations, but we figured, what the heck.
I found what I think is a hammer that rings the bells on an alarm clock:
A soldier on a horse with no legs:
And kept my silver streak alive with this 1942 Mercury dime:
Day two:
We started the day at a Victorian mansion, which again, didn't produce a whole lot, but I managed to keep my silver streak alive with this 1928 SLQ:
We then headed to another very old property, but it was tiny and produced nothing. But we chatted up a neighbor who was friends with the property owner of an abandoned home next door and he gained us access. Again, nothing major to write home about but cool finds nonetheless:
Flat button (I think it's corroded, no design):
And a Kendal Oil token, circa 1950ish:
From there we hit a HUGE horse farm. Right off the bat I found a button, but then nothing else the next couple hours:
W. WALLIS PLATED - Circa 1800-1828
Day three:
By this time, this is what my car looked like:
We started off at another small, old property. Each time Erik came over to me to tell me the property wasn't producing I found something good:
Silver streak continued with a 1942 Mercury dime and this beautiful 1898 Indian Head penny:
We then headed to a large property, which has a modern home but old land. Again, not a lot of finds...
Flatty (not Fatty) 1885 Indian Head penny (that I thought was a small colonial coin):
And a really nice flat button (can any experts age it?)
At some point in the weekend I found this silver plated spoon, but I can't remember which property :-/
