Had a pretty good weekend still hunting same site where almost every time your shovel breaks dirt a petrified palm wood chip comes up.

Pic 1) petrified palm wood chips most are opalized to varying degrees.

Great hunt! Got some old ones in there.
Looks like a couple bolens..one E notch. Mabey even Osceola Greenbriar.
 

7-9 thousand years old ...a couple of those. Killer spot your on....
That one pictured by itself may have really thick patina and the material under it not so nasty.

I think it's that through out Louisiana don't have any native stone everything that's here was brought here. I've seen points made from iron ore, low quality petrified wood, and now this one!
 

Same thing for the southern half of my state.
