It's been raining so only got out one day to run the "back 40".

In this area it looks like a salvage yard! So much iron - most all has been blown apart. The objects in the lower right corner (I think was an iron pot of some kind) fit together. The fancy stuff to the lower left looks to be a grate of some kind, maybe off an iron stove? The usual horse shoes and ax heads common to this area and one interesting object at the top.

This thing has me stumped, I think it was off a cart, buggy or some type of trailer contraption. It's about 4 feet long all iron, just want your opinion that it's not off a modern boat trailer or something.

Nearby were two 4 ft long HEAVY iron bars about 30 lbs each - gonna need help hauling them out of the swamp! But they look like they are off a heavy harness type wagon. I saw things like them used in the mountains by old timers to pull hogs to be butchered (after they were dead of course).

I think this was the sight of an old saw mill, it's next to a creek, bricks strewn about and blasted metal all over. Only thing I can think of is that this is the place that folks around here said Sherman blew up. What do you guys think? DSC08119.JPGDSC08121.JPGDSC08130.JPGDSC08129.JPG

Weird stuff... Looks like it has some age. Hopefully there are some non-ferrous targets there for your digging pleasure!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I'm getting kinda tired of just iron stuff, it's crazy how much there is ... would be nice to find something really fun. The lock is the only thing I found to get excited over. DSC08098.JPG
