Those pictures are much better. Although slightly oval that doesn't in itself rule out a button but does lean it closer to a Grotesque. However, I'm going to stick with 17th C Button now I've seen these pictures. The break of the shank where the hole was is more aligned to a button than a Grotesque that would have a much longer fixing.
What is now clear to me is the nice reddish patina which matches some of mine, also note one is off-round & the size is a near perfect match;

PS. I've never seen a 17th C face version before which is what throw me a little & I'm going say this makes it much RARER. I believe the image is the pagan image of the popular god 'THE GREEN MAN'.
