Watch this space?

I was just at the pirate and treasure museum in St. Augustine Florida yesterday and they did have a bell on display. I should have taken a picture of it. But I did take this picture...

read "the funnel of gold" well done book by a highly smart man ...it lists the Oct 24th ,1715 letter (ps) from the Virginia governor Alexander Spotswood to Lord Stanhope of England which details exactly what is sunk in Nassau Sound between Talbot island and Amelia island here in Florida * -- in the PS at the bottom of the letter --Spotswood tells the type of vessel (a barcolonga) where it was from (was sent from Havana ,Cuba) --what it was doing ( to pick up VIP'S and Treasure at the treasure wreck sites of the 1715 fleet) and where it sank at (is likewise lost about 40 miles north of St Augustine) ---this wreck would be a high value target as it would have had both royal treasure as well as the vips and their goods that were salvaged as well -- there were no survivors so the Spanish did not know of this wreck site --only the English did --however it was clearly in Spanish claimed waters and was a Spanish wreck --that why Spotswood sent a letter to Stanhope to ask the king for "permission" to loot the wreck --the war of 1701 to 1714 had just ended and sometime like looting one of their wrecks and stealing royal treasure items could easily restart it..

Nice info Ivan, I will try to get a copy to read

great a bunch of "pickled seaman".....

if one does indeed like pickles ... izzy's deli in cincinnatti ,ohio has great pickles --true kosher dills -- or if your stuck buying "common" pickles try clausen -- kosher dills -- in the reefer section note ...they must stay cold...
