LOL. and Sarah Palin can see Russia from her house in Alaska. Oh, look. There is a Spanish Galleon in that picture off to the left of the Island. I think a waitress found a Bell there.

If your' house is located where the arrow is pointing, then answer me this. Where in the hell do you folks go when a Hurricane is going to make a direct hit on your location? Do you go in the water and take your chances? I ask because there sure as heck ain't enough land there to save your' butt! Ironically, I remember back in the early 80's that many of the folks in Key West went to Miami because a Hurricane was supposed to hit the lower Keys. However, the Hurricane suddenly changed course and actually hit Miami instead.

In Answer to your question, the island is just over two miles wide at that point and I live about 600 yards inland and luckily there is a decent sized ridge ( about 30 ft high) at the ocean, if it's a monster surge we could be in trouble though.

However, the sun shines every day, I can dive 365 days of the year and if I get blown away, so be it.

In a special effort to further annoy Archie, a photo of my house in the bottom left of the photo and the shipwreck sitting on the reef in the top right, it's the sea hauler ( sadly involved in a collision tragedy)

sads669, Nice picture. Looks like a great location.
After studying the picture. I see a chest buried on the beach in the right upper corner.
There is a bell and severed hand in the chest. I can come down with my 2 coat hangers and pin point it for you.
 

Too late, BVI got the contract, he's bringing his own waitress.....

You could try running the boat the opposite direction of the wind and reduce it's strength. Just don't reverse it too fast....
Too it would explain your usual running in circles.:laughing7:
