Watch out for bed bugs in electronics!

Oh this is so gross.... I itch already :(

thanks for the tip!

Yeah, thanks! I was in a motel last night!

I know when i seen that i itched all day. What made me think of looking it up was when i was digging at a thrift store. Think of some of the people who drop stuff off there. Eww. Yes they do a inspection but theirs still eggs in pockets. But when i seen about the electronics on the extermination website my skin crawled. You know how many electronics ive picked up over the years outta trash lol. Got a whole bunch of computer equipment the other day.

This is the main reason I try not to bring anything that we pick into our home.

Sure, we have to bring some of it in, but I am especially leery of old cardboard boxes, and their contents.

According to a few web pages on the subject they will crawl 30ft or more to a new food source. They have a problem in run down areas going from one house to the other after some one abandoned the property and in complexes. or a neighbor throws stuff out they will crawl across the road. It said they could pickup on human scent for a long ways. Any suspected items containing bedbug should be put in a zippered bag and disposed of right away. They can with stand heat up to 120f and steam will kill them. Most dryers won't kill them but become a breeding ground for them.

Never heard that before but i know first hand about cell phones and roaches.

I buy trashed cells from this one guy (probably 15-20 thousand by now) About every three weeks i go to his house and he has two big boxes full of old phones. He will pour a box on the garage floor and as I am pulling and counting from the pile a cockroach will run for it's life. Usually the phone in my hand at the time will do the squashing or knock it 10 feet away from me. (yes my seller in named Jose and doesn't speak much English and I have never asked for a greencard)

I put all my phones in big garbage bags and tie them off. I never bring them into my house. That day or the next day I "process" them. (pull the battery & SIM card) and box for shipping. I seal the box very well.

So far no problems.

(did get a black widow and egg nest in a computer once but the smash real easy)
