Last week I bought a bag of jewelry at a GW because it had an Omega watch band. Nice enough band that made it worth my $40 price. Other bits of jewelry in the bag as well. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1575037705.709938.jpg
Then I bought another bag this week because it had an old watch I liked. It was a Swank Gran Sport 150. A decent watch. But when I looked closer, the band gave me pause. Why would someone put a fake Rolex band on the watch? Looking closer at the band, I’m now curious if it is actually a fake. It’s dated 1966 and stamped decently. I’m taking it to a jewelry store this weekend and maybe someone can tell if it’s real or not.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1575037997.733194.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1575038011.131980.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1575038027.657438.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1575038069.253053.jpg

Wow! Looks legit to me. Get it checked out. Could be worth some big bucks

I agree Looks like a legit stretch rivet band Remove it from the watch and take front and back photos with the the clasp open? The stretch rivets are not highly faked. Could be looking at 1500 to 1900 for it Nice one

Is there a number on the inside band?? 9315 or some such.. It will be at the link closest to the end....if so, the odds are excellent that the band is real.. And terribly expensive.. I was going to get a new band for my Submariner... Eh!! maybe not.. $1500.00+

Heck of a find. I made a great profit on an original band that went to the early cir. 1969 Doxa Sub 300 some time ago. Sad thing was my watch guy said he was unable to get the parts the watch needed and the way to get it fixed was to ship it to Doxa in Switzerland. That was a long time ago, and I correspondent the shipment with Doxa and after a few months the guy at Doxa said they never received it. I sent it USPS and paid a premium to have it tracked and they said it showed to have been delivered, but the guy I was emailing with claimed it never arrived. Having only the band left I put it on eBay starting it at 20 bucks and someone messaged me telling me I might not realize what I really have and I'm selling myself short. It was an auction and went for $455. I only paid 5 bucks for the whole watch and it was beat to hell and missing the rotating bezel. I got it in a coal town and it was packed in every crevice with coal dust, so clearly some coal miner used it a long time at work. Heck the reissue Doxa Subs sell in the thousands today.

Not all of the stretch rivets have numbers. Kooky I know but back then Rolex did not make their own bands and many times the bands were made in the country they were shipped to (To avoid import taxes) The bands I have seen marked rolex USA Seldom have numbers. I have 3 of them. Full set of pics please when you get a chance

Thanks for the info everyone! I’m headed to a high end jeweler now to have them open a gold watch for me and to remove and possibly authenticate this band. It’s a 7205 and matches what I’ve seen on the internet except for the rivets on this are domed. Also, it’s not a stretch band.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1575133135.022030.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1575133144.416788.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1575133157.789747.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1575133167.570952.jpg

Authentic! My first ever Rolex anything find! The jeweler asked me if I was interested in checking out their Rolex collection. Haha! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1575137902.334461.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1575137915.805376.jpg

Awesome find!!

Outstanding! :notworthy:

Update. Sold the Omega band for $95 on eBay. Sold the Rolex band to a guy in Australia from the Omega forum (Rolex subgroup) for $350 shipped (not eBay). Good price for him and all profit for me.

I would have bought the Rolex bracelet for that or more. I should have asked you about that.

Yes JimDon! I sold it to him that low because he was helpful and just asked. I certainly would have sold it to you! I’ll offer you watches and finds first!

Great. Thank you! Always willing to sell or trade gold or cash for watches!

That band is an easy $1500 all day long. I would have given you 1500! What a great find

That's a freakin good score well done
