Was Defunct Pool Day, Was told I'm a Bad Influence -)

djm of PA, DKinPA, & bkinpa Ripped off work today to
go defunct Pool Hunting with Me







Weather was somewhat Nice,
Ground a bit Frosty yet.
High temp today 62 Degrees.

My Gas Rebate 11 whole Cents



Found some Trash


Also found a Natural Lower Stem for a Metal Detector.
All it needs is a Hole To bolt it to a Coil





And a penny size Aluminum Slug

Hi Jeff , The pic captures a picnic area around the defunct pool , should have a few goodies in the woods area . rig the bone on a detector , I would pay to see that speakin' of strange .. freaky swimmers in the pic ! That's Klinger , it has to be a guy holding hands with his girl friend ... makes ya wonder if the place was a summer camp for cross dressers ... Old photo shows what looks to be a round gazebo or something below the pool , worth checking out .. Have fun in these mild temps , 8) dawg

Here is a Pic of The Picnic (Park) area North of the Pool
Green Arrow Points direction This Pic was taken.
that Area is Owned By fire co. But Recently No Trespassing Signs there.
My Guess Someone did damage. But No Fear.
Fire Companies Rock. I'll only need to ask.

Very Old Hotel/ Saloon
(Washington Hotel) stood
in the Corner Outside the Pool.
Place was Up on Stilts in the front
Remined me of an Old west Saloon
gone since the 70's. Swamp area Now

Intrestingly there was a Breaker accross the road from it
Was used in the Molly Maguires Movie.
Now Just Storge units there.

Wow !!! what a great,historical place to hunt I just found out my towns old pool is just down the road on private property,it dates to the late 40s ,early 50s. Wish me luck in my quest for permission. HH at your spot

Oh yeah, that would make it city owned property. Should be a snap. Just be aware that firemen working rotating shifts, so get the name of the person who you speak to. The next time you are out hunting could be another crew who know nothing of your previous conversation.

I'm seriously jealous of your location, so much potential! If we had anything like that where I live I would be camping there and hunting every day off.

Ah Not Quite.

Here we have "Volunteer" Fire Fighters.
no shifts. If there is a fire they all drop everything & Run.
All money raised goes into the Equipment, Training, Bills,
& Beer at the ones who have a Bar at the station.
Nobody is Paid.
As I said they all rock
at least Everyone I'v ever had the Pleasure of talking to.

I shouldn't say this, but in Every case I Have been approached
by a Firemen, It was to ask if I found
any Gold Yet to tell me what areas I should hunt,
and or to give me Leads.
I don't ever remember a firemen asking my IF I Had permission.
you give them Respect, they shure Give it

Always interesting to see what you can find at them old places.
And for those No Trespassing signs, They are probably there for safety reasons.
Don't want any kids wondering back there and drown or fall through the ice.

Naa No signs at the Pool.
Pool isn't fire Dept. Property.

signs are at the fire Dept.'s Park north of the pool.
Of course could be for Liability. could even be to Prevent
Local groups from using the Ballfield
and Buildings without asking the fire Dept. for permission
