My friendly teller held back 10 rolls of nickels for me yesterday. She knows I collect coins and keeps an eye out for CWR's that come by her window. I don't hunt rolls much but this was very surprising. I noticed that there were no new shiny coins in the first roll. All 40's, 50's and 60's + one no date Buffalo and a 43-P. Found a total of (14) Silvers in the first four rolls.
The next five rolls had no Silver but still all older coins. The last roll had (13) mixed date Silvers for a total of (27) coins. There were (2) 42-P, (2) 42-S, (10) 43-P, (2) 43-S, (4) 44-P, (1)44-S, (1) 44-D, (3) 45-P, (1) 45-S and (1) 45-D. Just one short of a complete set the 43-D.

It's still out there! Happy Hunting

Boy, for not doing it very often you sure got a great total! Great job...Brad

That is awesome! Reminds me the roll of nickels I found as a cashier almost 30 years ago at a fast food restaurant... 15 War Nickels, with all of the rest of the coins dated 1940-1954, along with a 1942 Canadian in AU.

The 43-D is indeed the hardest War Nickel to find. Have found 1 in nearly 200,000 nickels searched in 8 months.

Out of curiosity, did you find any key date Jeffersons among the other coins?

No key dates, (3) 39-P's nothing later than 1964 in any of the rolls.

I've sent back a lot of Pre-60 coins but I do check for double strikes and over strikes.
It was pretty cool finding all these in a small batch of coins.

Dude, 200,000 nickels is 5000 rolls searched................ WOW!!!

Thank you for the info... And thank you on the compliment! I'm at 197,000 nickels searched now in just over 8 months... I should hit 200,000 Friday or Saturday. I typically go through 1,000-2,000 a day.

sweet find. I finally finished my 1st roll of War nicks and I am starting to start on my 2nd roll. I haven't had any time to CR search but I am getting some luck through coinstar with the holidays, a lot of people are using coinstar. Good luck on the hunt!

Sincerely, Garoulady
