Warning On Quotes

I went to reply to a post the other day and quotes and i accidently changed the other persons quot. i was almost some and saw i made a typing mistake. I went back to correct it and accidently deleted part of their quote. I just clicked cancel the whole thing.

I make mistakes like that on occasion also.

As I said earlier, We do Check first to see if it was an Accident. :laughing7:

That's not what was being cautioned against. Everyone edits and crops long quotes to just the part they are replying to, it makes the post easier to read and understand. The offensive behavior was adding to and changing to twist the original message. such as this for example:

*** EXAMPLE
I went to reply to a post the other day and quotes and i accidently changed the other persons quot, but I left it and said "Screw the mods"
EXAMPLE***

So that now its not a quote from you, it's basically my own message but you get the blame, credit, etc for it.

I use the app on my ipad here and i type with my thumbs out f habit because i do that with my phone. Sometimes i type something and after i post it i wonder what i really typed becuae it looks nothing like i wanted it to look.

Members have the right to expect any quote attributed to them to be accurate and to not be changed to say something they did not say...

It violates our rules and is considered a serious offense by mods.

" You may not.... Impersonate, imitate, pretend to be, or mount another member."

Let me see if I have this correct, on a post warning members about changing other members quotes, you go in and change a moderators quote?

Gerry, accidents happen, it is intentional changing quotes we are talking about.....
