Lets stick to Thomas Beale as the one who made the cipher for now.
...or Hutter, Sherman, and Ward, all of whom would have recognized the name Thomas Beale from family history-the duel with grandfather Risqué.

Reckon you haven't entertained the opinion the name Thomas Beale was used as a character literary device to build the Beale story around.

... If we use our powers of deduction we can exclude the Thomas Beale from New Orleans. We need proof...

We still have Thomas K Beale but he was not a Captain.
Are you saying that Thomas Beale of New Orleans in NOT the Beale of Beale 1885?

Always change the theory to fit the facts, not the other way around. Use established, quantifiable, evidenced facts to develop further your theory. And if the facts mean that elements of the theory no longer hold, discard that part of the theory forthwith; persisting with the theory in face of opposing facts will create a false conclusion no matter how much you'd prefer it to be the conclusion.

Just answer his QUESTION!

He can not be excluded at this time. The name Thomas Beale Captain is given in the cipher that I have decoded. But the fact that the group of 30 made him Captain. There is no death certificate in Louisiana for a Thomas Beale except that of 1 in 1818. The son William Beale of EBR stated his father died in 1818. The info we are looking for Captain Thomas Beale death has yet to be found. the last day that he was alive by the fact that I have is 1824 mid year. We can not exclude the Captain Beale of New Orleans at this time from being the one of the beale cipher. As for the fact that the J in the name TJB is for James that of the son James W Beale we can not prove or exclude at this time.
